Attribution Setup

Configure how PartnerSignals tracks and assigns revenue credit across your partner ecosystem.

Attribution Model Overview

PartnerSignals uses a tiered attribution model that reflects the actual depth of partner involvement in a deal. Three tiers are supported:

Tier Description Typical Weight
Sourced Partner originated the opportunity — first contact, first meeting 100%
Co-Sell Partner actively co-selling alongside your team — joint calls, shared deck, exec sponsor 35–60%
Influenced Partner had account relationship but limited active involvement 10–20%

Weights are configurable per partner type and per deal stage.

Initial Configuration

Go to Settings → Attribution to configure your model.

Step 1 — Set Your Lookback Window

The lookback window defines how far back partner activity is scanned when attributing a closed deal.

  • Default: 90 days
  • Recommended for complex sales: 180 days
  • Enterprise: 365 days (contact your account team)

Step 2 — Configure Tier Weights by Partner Type

Different partner types carry different attribution weight by default. You can customize these weights:

Partner Type Sourced Default Co-Sell Default Influenced Default
Solution Provider 100% 50% 15%
Technology Partner 100% 40% 10%
Hyperscaler 100% 35% 10%
GSI 100% 45% 12%

To edit: click the partner type row, adjust weights, click Save.

Step 3 — Map CRM Stages to Attribution Events

PartnerSignals monitors your CRM opportunity stages to detect when partner activity should trigger an attribution record. Map your stages:

  1. Click Stage Mapping
  2. For each CRM stage, assign an attribution event type:
  3. Opportunity Created → Sourced check
  4. Discovery / Demo → Co-Sell check
  5. Proposal / Negotiation → Co-Sell reinforcement
  6. Closed Won → Attribution locked
  7. Click Save Mapping

Attribution Records

When a deal closes, PartnerSignals generates an Attribution Record that captures:

  • Partner name and type
  • Attribution tier (Sourced / Co-Sell / Influenced)
  • Weight applied
  • Evidence log (partner touches detected during the lookback window)
  • Attributed revenue value

Attribution records are written back to your CRM on the Opportunity record (Salesforce custom fields or HubSpot deal properties).

Dispute Flow

If a partner disputes an attribution outcome (e.g. claims Sourced when PartnerSignals assigned Co-Sell), use the dispute flow:

  1. Open the Attribution Record in the portal
  2. Click Dispute
  3. Enter the partner's claim and any supporting context
  4. PartnerSignals surfaces the full evidence log for your review
  5. You can Accept Dispute (upgrade tier), Reject Dispute (keep current), or Escalate to Manual Review

Manual review routes the record to your partner operations team and pauses CRM write-back until resolved.

Reporting

Attribution data feeds three report types in the portal:

  • Partner Revenue Report — total attributed revenue by partner and partner type
  • Co-Sell Pipeline Report — open opportunities with active partner co-sell signals
  • QBR Report — quarter-level summary for partner business reviews

See QBR Reporting for export and customization options.
